Ways to Get Involved
Friends of the HSO
Where would we be without our Friends? This group is the heart of our volunteer community. Friends assist with a variety of needs, from distributing concert programs and contacting sponsors to preparing treats for musicians. It is flexible, welcoming, and a great way to get involved in a hands-on way.
Time commitment: Flexible and event-based.
Committee Member
You do not need to be a board member to serve on a committee. Committees focus on specific initiatives and projects throughout the season. This is a great fit for those who enjoy collaboration and want to contribute at an organizational level.
Time commitment: Periodic meetings throughout the season.
Advisory Council
Professionals are encouraged to share their expertise through the Advisory Council. This group provides valuable insight in areas such as grants, business, law, music, and education, all without a significant time commitment.
Time commitment: Occasional consultation as needed.
Board Member
Take a leadership role in shaping the future of the Symphony. Board members work closely with the conductor and business manager to guide the organization’s vision and operations. Service includes monthly meetings, committee involvement, and strategic planning.
Time commitment: Monthly meetings and ongoing engagement.
