In 2024, the Board of Directors established the Johnson-Jensen Community Engagement Fund to honor more than 40 years of service by the orchestra’s two longest serving conductors, Dr. James Johnson and Dr. Byron Jensen.
The Johnson-Jensen Community Engagement Fund will be used to support the orchestra’s community engagement efforts in Hastings and the region, including special activities in addition to or in conjunction with the regular season, cooperative projects and events with other nonprofit organizations, and other activities and initiatives. Donations designated to the Johnson-Jensen Community Engagement Fund are welcomed and will help to continue the legacy of Dr. Johnson’s and Dr. Jensen’s service to the community.
